Bleak Ashness stream

By steve_eb
Taken at Ashness Bridge on a rather bleak and damp Sunday... on the meet with Kai, Darren, Trev & Nick.

Traditional shots are generally of the bridge up or down the mountain so I decided to go for the "unfashionable approach and shot up the mountain and use the Birch trees and the hut instead of the bridge.

Not sure how it will be received but I was happy with it considering the conditions V1 as was V2 a bit warmed up? lol !....and thanks to twordley for my 1st photoshop lesson too!!!

Comments and crits as always welcome... LARGE if you have time is worth a look, I think?

Different Steve, never seen a shot from here with the bridge behind you and it works well. Definately dark and moody.

Good to meet you guys as well.

I like V1 myself, I know it's dark and brooding but THAT'S what i like about it :O) I like the slightly unusual choice of composition too, nice work.

It's certainly a different view, but it works for me! I particularly love how the brightness of the line of water continues in the sky!

Excellent image Steve, version 1 for me ..............but then i would say that wouldn't i !

the large version seems to have loads more detail in it and well worth the look, the image itself overall looks fabulous on my home screen instead of the laptop - those glass fronts, while nice to protect the screen do seem to have to much variation from angle to angle and top to bottom.

its good to get back home and view on a proper screen - it makes a hell of a most of my pics look rubbish instead of all of them! :O)

v2 is great but v1 concentrates the eye on the cloud and water streaming down, lovely. Good atmospheric shot, moody. Romney
