The road that leads to my office is lined with chestnut trees and it's so hard resisting picking them all up! Very disconcerting though last week when it was a bit windy and they were falling all around me Smile

Great shot. As a kid these were prized, they wouldn't be left lying around for long, every one played conkers then.

Freda, these are perfect as they are. Modification not needed. Great shot. My daughter and her partner have so many of these in their garden and my granddaughter loves picking them up and opening them to reveal the shiny insides and she's not quite two yet.

Let konker season begin! Excellent sharpness and light. We have ours in December and January. They are called 'Buckeyes' here. The buckeye trees go leafless by August, as it is bone dry here. Not there are bare trees with small buckeyes all over them. They will grow and fall later. Then the trees flower in Jan. and Feb.
