Call Lane

By ade_mcfade
This was taken from the floor in front of a bus stop with a few incredulous looks from the people queueing...

Must have looked quite odd anyway.

It's a shot that links a few I've posted over the last few months.

The main part is Call Lane, you saw that fronted by a blue grate the other day - the main shop there is Blue Rinse, the retro shop. Then there's yet another tattooist, a fruit machine place and at the far end, a Chinese Buffet bar thingy. Not bad if you're in a rush.

Everywhre in Leeds has a bus stop by the way - I can't avoid them!

Extreme right is the corn exchange building just peeping in (I may crop this, not sure yet - but you saw that 2 days ago and voted nicely for it) which shows the cobbled street to the pubs down there. You can see Cafe Rouge, which is yet another shot I posted, that got a HC last year.

So in a way, it's a shots that provides a missing link.

it's an area most people never look twice at, they're either on their way to the market, their bus or a pub. Must admit, till I got a camera, I was the same!

Yes, it is amazing how one you have a camera in your hand, you notice lots of things that you passed right by before. I would not crop it because the buildings on the right and left edge provide some balance and perspective. And the top and bottom are just right.

Must admit I didn't take much notice of the surrounding buildings only the bars on Saturday night. One thing I did notice nearby though was everybody’s favourite studio - Venture Wink

Great night shot, love the low angle with the 'bus stop' markings filling the f/g.

Wouldn't crop it myself, it'd lose that second no entry sign which I think helps balance things up a little. In fact it looks mighty fine as it is!!!

Another good shot Ade. Nicely composed with yellow road signs nice and big in your trademark fashion.

Not sure about the really bright street lamp or the completely burnt out blue neon on the shop. Though I don't know what you could have done to avoid it.

taken about 7 shots Dav, basically I'd end up with shots where just the light and neon are showing. So you can do it with HDR, but I'm not convinced it's worth it...
