Skymaster

By Maiwand
Black Kite (milvus nigrans)
I have to say that I find the Kite family magnificent birds and I get a great deal of pleasure at watching them effortlessly swooping and soaring in the skies above. They really are masters of the sky.
This one is a resident at my favourite place, the Hawk Conservancy Trust nr Andover.
I had to attempt to change the BG as the bird was captured against a totally bland, uninteresting and featureless sky and to that end I decided also to crop in very close. I like it and I hope you may.
Most grateful and very appreciative of course for all the c/c's given to the Hooded Vulture.
Ron

The close crop on the bird works fine as you have captured this in-flight shot in excellent detail, showing off the patterning in the feathers so well.
I too could spend a long time watching them soaring overhead.
Ronnie.
A great in flight capture, Ron. Excellent detail as well.

A tremendous inflight shot of this majestic raptor, you had me fooled with regards to the background, I'd never have known that this was not a natural clear blue sky!

My only sight in the wild of about 40 in the air at once was on a campervan holiday in Southern Germany. Excellent detail in the shot. Congrats. paul
