Peach Hornet

By SteveMackay
A 150 shot stack of a Hornet, the Peach part of the title is just what the background is made ofSmile
The reason for so many shots is because those Antennas are pretty long, the tip of the left antenna is considerably nearer the camera than the tip of the right one.
Thanks for looking and thanks to everyone who commented and voted on my last shot, with a special thanks to Christine, Paintman, AndS, Mike, David, Carol and Sylvia for your UA's on that one, cheers all!Smile

The stacking really pays off, well worth the effort, because this is one of the best insect close-ups I've seen for a long time, and well deserves all of the awards.

It gets my vote for quality, technique and sheer endeavour - but how do you set up the shot and take 150 photos of such a creature without it moving? Chris

I recently did an image consisting of 23 focus stacked shots and I though that was enough (and the first attempt at processing it crashed my ancient laptop Tongue).

Doing 150 shots is patience and commitment. Smile

Well deserving of all the awards.
