Duck or Dipper?

By SteveMoulding
Is this Mallard a Duck or Dipper? He certainly ducked under the water or was he dipping under the water, hence the title.
I actually managed to get out for a couple of hours on Sunday with the camera and spent it at the WWT at Arundel. I also had the pleasure of bumping into a couple of fellow EPZ'ers.
The light was very harsh and bright and I quite often overexposed, especially on the Eider's.
I know it's just a duck but I hope you like this Mallard, having just bathed. I quite liked the way the water just ran off his back.
Many thanks for all your kind comments and votes on my Little Owl.
I am trying to catch up with everybody when time permits but work is taking up a lot of my time at the moment, (another 3 month contract) and starting up a new company.
Best wishes,

A lovely crisp shot, Steve, beautifully exposed and timed so well to capture the water on its back before it was all dispersed. Nice one.

Super capture of the Mallard Steve. I always feel that this bird/duck is rather neglected whilst we all chase more exotic species. Shame really as he is very handsome.

This is a great shot, Steve, perfect timing and exposure to 'freeze' the water running off his back. Top shot, and as Roly above says, must be viewed 'Large'.
