Sparkling Swans

By SteveMoulding
Many thanks for all your C&C's and votes on my Barn Owl Portrait, very much appreciated.
Today I've delved into the archive quickly to find these two images. I still haven't been out with the camera since the Shoreham airshow and have had little time to catch up with you all, so apologies.
This pair of Mute Swans had a fair number of Cygnets to parent, I quite liked the way the sunlight was sparkling on the water although the light was very harsh and has blown some of the whites of the Swans, I thought they maybe worth uploading. I will judge that by the number of responses I get, we will see. Best viewed Large to be honest, I'm not sure whether the thumbnails do them justice.
Best wishes and have a great weekend. I have a busy day, unfortunately not with the camera, so I will catch you later.
Steve.

Two enchanting images, Steve, very well presented. One slight niggle, the correct spelling is 'cygnet' ! Carol
Thanks, Carol.

Both lovely. Think my vote goes to V2. Rather like the composition, the proud look of the adult Swan and that little drip of water from its beak.

V1 is excellent and imaginative. I love the light, possibly a little strong but it sure does make the water sparkle.

The light was very unkind in V1 Steve and you did well under the circumstances, I rather like V2 best for comp and detail,
Geoff.

I don't think the blown highlights are a problem in #1: the sparkle makes it special. Smile
