Two great shots Steve. My preference is for V1 as the pose is different from the norm and it seems somehow to bring oput the endearing and mischevious nature of these creatures.

V1 is by far the better Steve, it has a more natural feel to it and at first I thought it was a wild one. Into sun has worked well and retained the detail and given the water more of an image as the eye would see it. Plus the angle on the Otter is good as is the eye and detail

Great shots, Steve.

I definitely prefer V2 here. Not just 'cos the light works much better, but also for the pose and moment captured.
