White & Black

By SteveMoulding
Straying away a little from my past few photo themes of 'out of my comfort zone' and closer to my pet subject (sorry about the pun). But these are not domestic cats, only semi domestic, some fearful of human contact, they are Farm Cats. Living off the wild rodents on the farm but with a supplimented diet of cat food for those that are friendlier.
These are just three of the thirty six that live on our cousin's farm and although not tame enough to touch were willing to pose for a very short time. Ninety percent of the cats are of a variation of white/black, black/white and black. I hope you think they are as beautiful as I do.
Many thanks for the kind C&C's on my uploads. I have been pleasantly surprised by the response to my 'out of the comfort zone' series. All votes and comments are much appreciated.

Love V1! The cat is the image of one I had as a child! So, no, the black spot on the nose isn't ugly!!!

Bet you had some fun chasing them round the farmyard to get this set of images!

Hi Steve, Black and White chose difficult subjects here.
Whilst it's a good set the exposure is controlled much better in V3. V1 and V2 are overexposed some and you could have improved these considerably by dialling in 1 or 2 stops minus exposure compensation. If you had slightly underexposed these and shot in RAW you could have retrieved them and this is one of the advantages that you don't have so much control over shooting in jpeg format. Having said that, the presentation on all 3 is lovely. My comment is meant to be helpful and not offensive in any way,

They ARE beautiful. Wow.

You can actually see the 'wildness' in the eyes in V1 and V2...but the one in V3 seems softer. I like the angle and pose in V3, Steve. Makes you wonder what he's (she's?) thinking.
