Not a Bird Sang 2

By SteveMoulding
A revamp of my last upload after some suggestions were made to improve the image.
Plus a different view taken at Auschwitz 1.
They were taken back in 2008 on a visit to Krakow in Poland. We visited the infamous concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau, known as Auschwitz 2. What struck me most was the silence, not a single birdsong could be heard at all, at either site. There was a complete sense of cold and foreboding around every corner.
Another image far from my comfort zone and using some new techniques I have never used before.
Many thanks for all the votes and comments on my last upload.
Have a great week.
Steve.

Gives me a chill. In V2, I get the feeling of faces peering at me from that fence, that seem to be crying. Very sad............Sandy

These could only be mono. So dreadful to recall what happened there - after all these years it is hard to believe it could ever have happened. Thanks for reminding us - outstanding images.

Excellent images - they sent a chill through me just looking at them, I just can't imagine what it must be like to be actually there.

I think the mono gives a more sinister feel to this place and that's just what it was, lets hope it is never experienced again. - gary

The mono is a very good medium for this unsettling place Steve, as its dispassionate tones are fitting, giving the strong silhouetted fence the feeling of foreboding, excellent image,

A grim reminder as to how uncivilised the human race can be.

An awesome image that provokes sadness, anger and maybe bitterness.
I can only image how bad this was for all those that suffered behind those electric fences, how much anger even today that the world could do nothing to stop it.

I for one am so glad to see these singular people who think they are above Humanity brought to justice in one way or another, the likes of bin laden and all the other MURDERERS.
