This is another portrait of an Arabian Sand Cat, a very shy cat that, like every other cat, tends to sleep most of the day, so I had to wait to nearing feeding time to see him/her and get a few shots.
Coming from desert areas, these cats have long, thick hair between the pads of the paws. This hair lies over the pads and acts as protection from the hot sand. As there is not much prey around in the desert, sand cats have excellent hearing to help them locate it. They can hear small animals moving about underground and dig them up. Someone noted that the last image of one of these cats I hadn't shown the ears, so here they are. (No pun intended) .
I hope you all had a great weekend despite the weather and enjoy the rest of the week,
ps. I'm sorry to all those that already had voted and commented but I've had to delete and upload again to clear the ADULT image label. SORRY.
