I don't know if I would have placed the figure quite so centrally but I love the furrows and rich colours.

Thanks all,
Interesting you point that out Pip, I went totally against the rule of thirds in this shot (because I dont think the immediate foreground was interesting enough to take away from the sky), so I thought the only thing for it was to go for the symmetrical composition, with the central figure on the crest. I wasnt sure where else he could go- maybe I should just get rid of him!
Cheers, Steve

Excellent work.. love the diagonals leading from the bottom left and right corners.

Not 100% sure about the man ... cant make up my mind if i would prefer it without him or have him de-centralised.

great work nontheless tho...

Great to see you back Steve.

I love the classical composition for this - and the 50/50 horizon works superbly in this case. Love the sky, and the inclusion of the figure adds that 'something special'. Love it.

I like the use of the furrows as lead in lines and the colours are great. It have might be interesting to try another shot where the figure is place off to the side?! Great.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions, I will experiment with the placement of the figure I think- an easy enough job in Photoshop!
Good to be back Pete, its been a while since I've been out properly with the camera (moving house and changing job...), my few efforts of late have been from within a mile of my house. I'll keep an eye on your galleries to keep me motivated!
Cheers

A beautiful simplistic comp - can't make my mind up about the figure but as you say that's the beauty of digital

Great stuff either way

Stunning clarity and light.
Your skill at photo stitching is amazing.
I think the square format works brilliantly.
The figure adds a surreal feel which I really like.
