Pohutukawa Tree

By SteveNZ
A trip to another part of the local coastline to practice 'moving water' captures and waiting for the sunset (that didn't happen)... turned around and saw this towering pohutukawa tree against the darkening sky.

Well done for looking for something else that suited the conditions. The silhouettes are super - and very sharp considering the low light. I would probably prefer it without the dog, and shifted very slightly to the right, but that's nit-picking Smile

Love the comp! The dog makes it more of a family shot, without it it would be more of a romantic shot.

Ahh now me and the lady above Chris disagree, I like the inclusion of the dog it works well, like a "come on you two its me were walking".
Well spotted.
How do you pronounce that name???

Thanks for your comments. I sensed the dog was feeling left out. More than one story can be applied to this I guess!
Pohutukawa (Maori word) is pronounced pretty much as the letters suggest.
