Deer at Rest

By strawman
One of the males resting at Dyrham Park getting his strength together for another go at the rut (he lost). One moment he almost looked asleep, the next he ran back to competition. I felt a bit sorry for him but no doubt his time will come.

I am told he is about 8 or 9 by the warden and he lost out to the dominant male and ended up being chased down the hill.

Hand held shot 1/100, f7.1, ISO 400, 400mm

Amazing John; first time I saw this one, I thought I took it.Wink Just kidding. This is a good wildlife shot, with the all important out of focus BG to make the subject stand out. Well done.

Are you still using the 40D? I'm seriously considering getting one for birding, mainly flight shots. If you wouldn't mind, PM me, or just put a few comments here.

PS: I really do like this shot of the stag, buck over here.
