Atlas moth

Atlas moths- this one is a male, very big. Female is bu=igger though and can reach a wingspan of 28cm! Atlas moths have the most surface area wings of all moths.

I think the head area seems a little out of focus; not a lot, but the wing tips are the sharpest parts of the photo. Other than that, it's a wonderful creature and good composition.

Aren't they beautiful - I saw my first one 'live' last year at a butterfly farm. Being so big makes it very difficult to get it all in focus, when close up. You've done really well - yes, perhaps a little soft in areas, but on the whole, one to be proud of - well done!

Well taken shot, focaus is very good depicting the colours and outlines of the butterflies wings etc, good timing even though they are big!!

well done a wonderfiul shot ..dont fancy that thing flying at me at night .what amazing markings though
