Aquilegia vulgaris

By Sue_R
Another image of the lone white Aquilegia vulgaris at Inverewe Garden that featured in a previous upload. I couldn't decide whether it worked better in landscape or portrait format so I took both and I still don't know which I prefer.

Many thanks to all those of you who have supported my little foray into the world of flowers Smile

Still a few more to come and then I really want to get some more landscape shots, but that probably won't be for sometime as I'm due to go into hospital next week for an operation on my shoulder.

This works really well in landscape Sue, and I think it's my choice of fav' out of the two. Nicely composed, and the dark BG, and possitioning in the frame of the flower, makes this a lovey gentle image.
And i wish you all the best for next week Sue, and i guess that means you're going to be rather quiet for a few hours Smile during and after your op', how will you COPE! ? Wink
All the best to you Sue,

Going for the sympathy vote as well Sue, hope the op goes without a hitch and you're back in the fight for space and clicks soon.
You have a fine image here and I like the space the horizontal crop gives to the flower, vulgaris it may be, but pretty too.

All the very best my friend,

Well, having toggled back & forth between this and your portrait upload, I think I prefer this one of the two.
So sorry to hear you're having to go into hospital for an op, Sue, hope everything goes 0K for you. Sad
Take care,

I like the composition of this image, in as much as the main flower is isolated, but there's that hint of other things in the background. The slightly negative space on the right works really well. Good luck with the operation... Dave
