Pulsatilla vulgaris

By Sue_R
Well I gave in and had a go at taking flower pics yesterday, despite insisiting that I don't do flowers Smile

I bought these Pulsatilla vulgaris plants intending to try taking a photo of the flowers weeks back, but never got around to it until now. Needless to say the flowers have died, but I think I prefer the seed heads anyway Smile

First attempt with the macro lens I got last Christmas so please be gentle with me Smile

Many thanks for all your votes and comments on my recent uploads.

Nicely isolated--and a touch of boka in the background!
Lovely shot.

Nice use of dof Sue, and a very good start to what might become a new regular type of image for you Smile As well as Landscapes of course Smile Very good subject matter here, and quite unusual. Maybe you'll find some nice Wild flowers to photograph out there in Landscape land. Just another lens to carrySmile

All the best to you Sue, and well done for trying out a new venture.

I like this, it's lovely and soft, with good light. Nicely composed with the other flower off in the distance. Nice use of aperture.

I think you do now, Sue! A very lovely capture, and so different for you. Not only very well composed, but the one of the right and background are just nicely out of focus which gives it a 3D feel about it. Love the warm colours, too. Well done!

I'm hopeless at it, but you seem to have cracked it, have the RC on me Smile
nice work with the macro sue
Nice bokeh here Sue and the soft colour works well. it's worth fiddling with the aperture to see which one gives the best bokeh, & how it changes as you stop the lens down. Another feather in your hat.
