Sea Holly

By Sue_R
Yet another photo of the Eryngium flowers in our garden (their common name is Sea Holly), this time without any bees Smile

Wasn't sure in which order to upload these two, but went for the square crop first simply because it displays larger as a thumb and when you go large Smile V2 is the original upright image from which it was cropped.

Thanks again to all those of you who take the time to vote and comment on my pics. It really is much appreciated.

These are wonderful Sue, and V1 the right choice to lead with, and so much nicer when not messed about with Smile really lovely in colour and dof, and of course, in composition.

The original is excellent, Sue, and I can't make up my mind whether I prefer it or the cropped version. Such good use of selective DOF to isolate one bloom so crisply. Think it will have to be 1/2 vote to each.

This is very beautiful, Sue, and just love the colour of this flower. I'm with Ronnie on this, and find it difficult to choose my fave. I do like the square crop, but in V2 the eye is lead nicely round anticlockwise from the bottom left flower and finishing on the sharp one in the centre. So, think it's half a vote for each from me, too!

Excellent use of DoF in these Sue, I like the inclusion of the out of focus flowers in the background
