Old Man of Storr

By Sue_R
Still working my way through all the photos I took while down in the Glencoe area and on Skye last week so you may have to suffer them for a long time yet Smile

Took this image of the Old Man of Storr on Skye last Friday. The clouds were amazing that day and the sprinkling of snow made the stones stand out better, but we could have done without being pelted by huge hailstones on the way back down again.

Sort of strange really, while up the hill, we met people of all different nationalities - German, Australian, American, Spanish, Peruvian - but not a single Brit! Any suggestions as to why this might be? Smile

Totally delighted to discover I could still walk in my walking boots, despite my bad foot, so hoping to get out and about a lot more again now, work and weather permitting.

Many thanks for your votes and comments on my recent uploads.

Stark and cold: the conditions have made the land mass almost monochrome.
Very atmospheric and a like how there is light behind the Old Man and his neighbours, making them stand out even more dramatically.

Amazing textures and Colours in the Rocks Sue, and wonderful Clouds shifting over the Scene. Very nice comp' all in all.
And the reason why you didn't meet any Brit's Sue, is because they are not silly enough to be in a Hail Storm on a Mountain Wink
And for that comment, please accept my award Smile

Superb !!!.....lovely strong image, with a great sky, but for me it's that bit of snow-cover that adds a
different dimension !!!.......love it !!

It's great to see a different take on this icon. It looks pretty chilly, but you're right about the amazing clouds.
