Queen's View

By Sue_R
We recently spent a week in Pitlochry, which is an area we hadn't visited before, so I was hoping for some different images to upload. Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there so very few photos to show for it.

This shot of Queen's View was taken immediately after a torrential downpour and thunderstorm. It rained again very soon afterwards Sad

Many thanks for your votes and comments on my recent uploads.

When we were there a couple of years back we got caught in the heaviest downpour I can recall....soaked through.
This image is the story of summer 2012 weather-wise, Sue, and despite the conditions, a very acceptable landscape with lots of f/g interest and detail.

Well captured Sue despite the adverse Scottish weather! Smile I find this sort of light really difficult - there must be a knack....

A composition which works perfectly and a great result despite the weather and light.

A lovely composition Sue, but such a shame that you have so few chances to capture the beauty that's all around you, due to the Weather. Hope you get better weather and more chances very soon.

It is still a beautiful area, Sue, despite the weather being dreck. Lovely vista.

Visited here on New Year's Day 2008 when I went for a New Year break, and I too stayed in Pitlochry...and it rained most of the time when I was there! It certainly is a super view looking up and down the loch (though it was rather misty) and I took a series of 5 images, which I stitched together to produce my very first panorama! It was also one of my earliest EPZ uploads Queen's View , though it was before I became a paid up member, so it's a little small! Sad
A lovely capture here, Sue, thanks for sharing it with us, and showing me what it's like across the loch in into the distance without the mist enshrouding everything Smile
