A bit more artwork!

By TrevBatWCC
On my last full day in Rome it was quite cloudy all day and showers had been forecast, so decided to re-visit St Peter's and go into the Basilica, then into the nearby Castel Sant' Angelo. However, although difficult to see in this shot, there was such a long queue, which disappears off to the right and through the stone columns. I don't know where the end of the queue was, but I decided against going in! At least I have been inside the Basilica on my first visit to Rome. Wandering through the columned area on the opposite side I came across this girl sketching, so grabbed a shot Wink

Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Photomatix Pro and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

A very well-conceived and well-taken photograph. I can't help noticing that the young lady is sketching the colonnade without its scaffolding and other intrusions!

One of your best compositions I think from the city, with the sketch forming an anchor as well as an alternative view-within-a-view. We are following the artist's gaze.

You see you don't get any camera distortion and you don't need to clone scaffolding out when you draw WinkWink

Very well seen and composed this one Trev!

My husband would understand perfectly not wanting to stand in line to see some sights. I still have never been to the top of the Empire State Bldg due to the long lines of tourists wanting a view from the top. If I had been alone, I would have plugged in my mp3 player, taken photos of the folks waiting and bided my time Wink

A wonderfully composed photograph Trev, great perspective on both fronts. Sympathetically processed, and wonderfully presented.

Well spotted! This works really well.

Like the way she's ignored the scaffolding in her drawing - much easier than trying to clone it out in a photograph Smile
