Ardvreck Castle in Winter

By Sue_R
I keep promising myself that I won't take any more photos of this castle as I've taken so many of it now, but never seem to be able to resist Smile

This image of Ardvreck Castle at Inchnadamph in Sutherland, taken last Sunday, is very similar to the one I uploaded on Monday, but a different comp, with the little stream running in from the left rather than the right. I've uploaded the other one again as V2 and would be interested to know which you prefer.

Thanks to all who have voted and commented on my recent uploads.

I prefer V2, don't know why, just looks a better angle to me I suppose. Great. Trish

A great location and a fine composition. The reflected light on the water lifts it nicely.

My preference is version 2 Sue - the stream seems to lead you in better. Like the light too. Well captured.

Both nice but V2 for me Sue just looks a bit more balanced. The colour looks a touch more natural too, V1 looks a tiny bit blue

V2 everytime, comp brings you in from the right and meanders [sp?] through taking you to the castle.

Both have nice lead-ins of that stream (or is it a burn?), but V2 has the edge for me, Sue...as Dennis above says, it's a bit more balanced.
As for the snow, it's at it again here now, and settling, too!

Both are really nice Sue, but V1 for me. The stream leads the eye to the main subject.

Lovely image as always Sue, and it looks like some people can make a home in the coldest of places.

Both work well Sue but my preference is V1, the stream leads you straight to the castle and I like the little glow of light on the water.
