Mean Street

By suemart
Attracted by the reflection, I took this picture some time ago and have always liked it. I think it puts interest and atmosphere into an ordinary scene with the harsh lines leading you through the image, the damp concrete and dark colours. But does it have impact? Does it appeal to anyone else? Have I just got weird taste? If you've got a minute to comment, I'd like to know what you think.

I like this. The composition is very strong, with the lead in lines, the geometry, drawing us to that "Frame within a frame", top right. And the reflections certainly mess with the brain, I'm struggling to separate illusion from reality. Has to be one of the strongest, graphically speaking, reflection shots that I have seen for some time. I would really want to see it in High Contrast B&W, but then that's just me being me, and there is something about the colour throughout the frame, that splash of green, the blue "bit", and the yellow light reflections that really bring this to life.

The reflection puts a step in the image! Different!
