Eclipse

By SueWB
I have just seen some wonderful eclipse photots on the site and so was not going to bother uploading my effort.

But then I thought, well, I spent what should have been a family night popping in and out of the house to the garden (much to everyone's annoyance) AND spent ages getting this image right in PS, AND spent 3 years at uni getting a degree in Astrophysics so....why waste ALL of that?!!

Hope you find it intresting (at least its not a squirrel.....ooo.....maybe I should do a montage...first squirrel on the moon!!)

Tripod and cable release used
ISO 400 max to keep images clean
various manual exposures
focal length 400mm
wide open lens, f5.6, to get the shortest possible shutter speed to reduce shake and/or blur from the motion of the moon across the sky.

Great Work. Like you I spent a long time out in the cold last night! I found it quite difficult to get sharp focus during totality.

P.S. It has to be a mouse on the moon montage doesn't it? The colour during totality proves the Moon is made from Red Leicester cheese!
