There are a couple of slight hot spots, but the detail in the back feathers is good and I also like the backlight coming through the beak, so they don't detract from the shot for me.
Nice simple composition. If I was going to be very picky, I might have cropped the left of the picture just a little to remove the thorns.

Hi, superb shot, yes harsha lighting throwing a shadow, and not truly backlit but this works perfectly .. great depth of field .. superb.

I wouldn't crop the photo at all .. by doing that you would lose the space that the bird is looking into and i feel this woudl unbalance the composition.
