Another of my daughters decided she wanted some photos taken recently and so we set up a shoot where she got to wear a whole lot of different outfits. When she put this one on, I knew there was something missing, so suggested she put on this funny little hat. Might not be to everyone's liking, but I like it because it makes the shot a little quirky.

Thanks for taking the time to look... all comments gratefully accepted.

Cheers

I would go for something even more minimalistic. (Yes she would still wear the hat and the dress).

I think a tighter crop or a square format would be more pleasing, as it introduces less black to contrast the little pink hat and excludes the area of white, might be gloves or light, I can't see well. I guess they are gloves would match the white of the net on the hat supposedly but they are too apart. If I was to shoot is square I would ask her to take the necklace too, if I was to crop the pic to square, I would use a tool to remove it.

Focusing is spot on.

Thank you Saeid and Pablo.

Pablo... I understand where you are coming from in relation to the square crop and it is an option I was looking at. The white area is actually the bottom of her dress and agree that the square crop would remove this. As for the necklace... it has special significance to Amanda and so removing it would not be an option... not that I have a problem with it anyway... but again do understand how removing all distracting elements might make it stronger overall.

Nothing odd about that hat. Looks great. Could wear it to church, theater, or a wedding. Adds to your excellent portrait.
She's very charming, relaxed and in a great mood and it shows. You, the photog can take credit for that. Many daughters do not always play along so well.

A fine portrait and she has eyes that are heaven sent. TG
