Bamburgh Break ...

By sut68
On our way home from the Pitlochry meet, Rich and myself made a detour for Edinburgh and then on to Northumberland the following morning. Great morning it was too, with some pretty nice conditions for the most of it. When we arrived it was like rush hour with several other togs arriving and getting set up ... 'elbows out Rich' I though Wink

Anyway, this was one of the later shots taken that morning at, and in a bit of a precarious spot indeed ... Rich didn't brave it out to here, but he did call me on his mobile to let me know about the big wave about to come crashing in where I was stood Wink

Didn't really notice at the time that arching cloud above the castle [was making sure I didn't get washed away]. When I initially reviewed the shots at first though I'd wiped my filters clumsily, but on the preceding sequence of shots you can clearly see it coming across the sky.

Anyway, we got a little light breaking on the horizon that morning, didn't last for long ... just long enough Grin

Thanks again for your continued support on my earlier uploads, hope you like this one too. Enjoy your day!!! Smile

Paul

Good viewpoint this. Like the shaft of light on the horizon, seems as if its pointing at the the Farnes.

Don't think the shot does the position any justice mate, you were certainly in the thick of it, precarious is an under statement!

Cheers all, right, back to it, see you later,

Fabulous image of one of my favourite spots. I like the inclusion of the Farnes on the horizon as it balances the picture well. Superb processing too.
Wish this was in my pf.

Not even 30 yet! Must be a slow day as this deserves a lot more and best appreciated large. Great contrast of inviting sky and uninviting rocks and sea.

Ah, just given you my user award by accident. I like the shot, but was intending to click on yesterdays not the give award, ah well it would be rude to take it back and I keep forgetting to give them out anyway Wink

How about a confirm on the user award EPZ techies?

I've had a similar phenomenon happen on a shot of mine last year. It looks almost identical to yours.
Youwere bold in the extreme to get as far out as you are here, it payed off but I would suggest some more caution in future. You can push your luck too far.

Thanks too Lesley and Dougie. Trust me Dougie, I won't knowingly put my life on the line for any shot ... well, I don't think so anyway Wink Though the better angles never seem to be just where you want them to be ... balancing danger against safety, the edges becomes a little blurry at times, but I'm normally erring on the side of caution first.

Nicely taken Mr S, some lovely movement in that surf.

Im still waiting for the one where the horizons all askew and everythings blurred where you had to dash at the last second. Wink

ps: make sure the camera kit stays dry, i've got that covered as well Wink

PMSL @ Chris, there was probably a couple of occasions where that should have been the case ... but Rich never rung me to let me know Wink

As for the kit, I probably have more respect for it than I do my own personal safety Grin
