Cold as Ice

By martinl
Out first thing this morning for a long overdue meet with Martin West (martin.w) at Curbar Edge

Was a smashing sunrise with some great colour in the sky, and of course lots of lovely frost on the gritstone. This was my very first shot of the day at 8.00am (about 15 mins before sunup).

Better than my first efforts! Well done for the GEA, that should make up for missing the light! Wink
superb shot Martin the light in this is stunning, and a great composition well captured.

Curbar was one of my possibles this morning but I stopped when I hit the mist in the Hope Valley, so it is good to see what was going on there! As you say it was a bit nippy, the contrast of the warming sunlight with the frozen ground works well.

Awesome clarity in this Martin, and beautiful tones. This shot inspired me to get my lazy backside out of bed this morning and drive out to Curbar myself. Really nice light again, but I'm sure I've got nothing that touches this. I'll upload later anyway and you can see what i mean!

Cheers, Mark

Tope notch Martin, I think you caught the best light of the day. Once the sun came up, the colours receded and the sky turned blue.
Really beautiful Martin - lovely colour and composition.

A real beauty Martin. I knew that the light was about to break when I saw you heading off down to the car park! Really good to see you and Martin W again.
