I have measured out my life with coffee spoons

Taken in a Paris cafe She seemed distant and preoccupied and the title kind of suggested itself. (T S Eliot)

sorry just looked it up J Alfred Prufrock. Knew it was missing something! - and just realised who the photographer was - aha it must be from your Paris trip!

Wow thanks so much everyone. So glad this works - I do love to experiment with new things and I've not done many candids apart from the latest trip to Paris 8-D .. so yes, Sus, you're right! And yes, it's Prufrock. (It does look like MD, doesn't it..)

a really cracking image.. you have caught her with that far-away-from-here-cafe-state.. very meditative. I normally hate text with images but this is definately an exception.

What an excellent candid, Suzi, I love this. And you certainly know how to combine the fruits of the great authors with the fruits of your camera!

Thanks so much everyone. It was a good opportunity to try candids on that trip. Which is all very well, but without releases I don't have a hope in doing anything with 'em .. next step I guess is talking to them afterwards .. *gulp*

Smashing! The thumbnail didn't do it justice. The text and the pose really work here.

I'm hoping to get to Paris in June, I see I'm going to have to go walkabout with my 'stealth' camera.

An excellent shot. Those two out of focus heads in the background pull it together. Everything you look at in this says something.

The best I have seen from you but then I an bias towards social documentary or whatever the label is these days. I used to do lots of this work but alas it has all got screwed up with restrictions.
With hindsight I bet you wish you had gone for a chat.

Thanks so much everyone. I must admit I had some fun, curled up in my little corner outside the cafe and people watching. Got a good few candids.

Yes Ken I do wish I'd gone over and introduced myself and got talking and then whipped out the release! hehe (Must remember to start carrying some around with me).

Excellent candid. Have you tried some of your candids in B&W? Sometimes they work well this way.

Thanks for the visit and the feedback Stevie Smile I haven't done many candids although I took a few on the Paris meet. I've given the B/W a go and have posted it as a mod. Thanks for the suggestion Smile

Such a talent no more tears now, for me, this is more expressive than the wine glass shot. Introspective thought is hard to shoot here in Blackpool, people are so touchy, this is early morning coffee, she is so beautifully french.
Cant wait for more.
Cheers for now.

A young version of the character of poem. Especially like the ladies' heads from behind making it much more meaningful. Great photo!
