Fine work with your new lens Sue - nearest I can come to an ID would be a Tawny bumblebee hoverfly...there are just sooooooo many though...!!!

That's what crossed my mind Mike, but as I've never seen one I wasn't sure, to be honest I'm not even sure it's a Hoverfly? has me totally stumped!.......... Sue found this and shot all on her own without telling me about it......Sad

No idea what it is, but I'm wondering if it's been parasitised(?) - the posture looks odd! There are some parasites that makes the creature crawl to the top of a grass stem so the spores can be spread in the wind.

Brilliant pin sharp detail in these Sue, it looks like you are putting Durb's old lens to good use. This little fella's eyes are redder than Ade's after a session on the cider!Tongue
