This Female Kingfisher...Queen of the river...catching the rain on the end of her beak

has to replace a 18 month old tap!! ...tomorrow 9am...finger's are well crossed

This is a lovely capture of Lady Guinevere.
Her distinctive square tail and her bushy eyebrows identify her.
The exposure and colour are spot on.
Considering the river runs through a wood the background could not be bettered.
And the poor light through adverse weather has been well coped with.
The fact that she is starting to moult takes nothing away from the bird.
Your' 10th visit here show a vast improvement to your' kingfisher photography compared to the pictures taken by you last winter.
It has my UA which I do not give unless deserved.

Another excellent kingfisher, Lillian: superb detail, plumage colour and 'pose', and with that dark b/g the bird shows off just perfectly.
