I love this image, reminds me of my childhood, before they put a fence around 'The Major Oak' this was my play ground and place of fantasy. I never was Maid Marion, but I was a great Robin Hood, well, I looked better in the tights than my Brothers. Grin

That aside, these are well taken images.

This winter image of the old oak shows off it's structure so much better than a summer shot in full foliage might do: definitely my favourite from this winter set, Sylvia.

You can just imagine Robin and his merry men under and on this fine old Oak.
A few hundred years in the making, no wonder it's protected.

Although I live just a few miles away its ages since I've been to see the Major Oak must make the effort
