Red Monada

By taggart
Red Monada

aka bee balm, horsemint, bergamot, Oswego tea and likely many more local names.
Monarda will be found in several colors, white being the native version-- lavenders, pinks and reds. It is endemic to North America and is a favorite of humming birds and all kinds of bees

We grow it is wild places as it is a tall plant which spreads and forms colonies-- great patches of red when in bloom.

What an exotic (to me) multi-storey flower in this delightful, well captured, well composed and well balanced image.

Beautifully portrayed, Jennn. You're showing me what ours should have looked like - 6 plants, but none survived!!!Sad

Superb composition and presentation Jenn, a lovely flower too. I can imagine it being quite a sight when when it is in bloom.

I wish it would be prolific in my garden...I think the soil is too acidic. I've tried multiple times to grow it.
This is a lovely color.
