Yesterday's Weather

Your comments, votes and awards on my recent bird images have been greatly appreciated! There are many more to come as i am preparing a collection to donate to the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology for their publications, etc., (a more or less yearly donation).

Yesterday it started to rain on our 2 feet of snow---the temperature rose and flooding was predicted---PLUS a dense fog hovered most of the day. At some point it was firmly suggested that i go out with a camera--- which I did with some lack of grace......

Thus---- This is the road to the Covered Bridge, the creek is just behind the dark mass of trees.....

Driving was NOT recommended!

Flooding is probably better than turning to ice but either way, your weather looks so depressing. We have had pretty good temperatures but lots of rain.

Looks real cold. Well done taggart.

It might make for bad driving but it is a wonderfully atmospheric image.

You definitely do understand. Fog and snow. A very moody image with that silhouetted tree.

A wonderful winter image of this road Jennifer, nice that you went out and captured it.
5 Feb 2016 4:34AM
You nailed it Jenn. I drove out to buy some wood a bit east of you....there were spots, low spots with snow on the ground, in the rain and fog I could see maybe 50 yards. No day to drive....and I needed the wood. And, fog really eats snow.

Love this, it has the silence and the sense of eternity of deep winter.
I'm going to be picky and ask if the original file has a bit more height at the top? I'd love to see the upper edge of that curved branch, and a bit more height would also allow the cable to hit the top left corner of the frame.
That doesn't matter here though. Instant UA.

Fabulous, Jenn - it would be interesting to see shots from the same spot at different times of the year.

Very very atmospheric, Jennn, very much 'stay in around the woodburner' weather, but well done you for taking this!
