Young Mossy frog, Theloderma corticale sitting on the edge of a small pool
As witnessed by Val Saxby on the photography day two days ago, these are the strangest of frogs. I keep finding them lying in human like positions on their sides, backs or even sitting. I have never encountered this before with any other frog. At first I was alarmed, thinking one was ill, but no, this is just a peculiar trait of this species
This one was just sitting there on a leaf, I found another sitting in a similar position amongst the moss an hour ago, he just stayed there whilst I replicated rain with my spray bottle and didnt bother moving for about 30 minutes..
