The devil makes work ...

By TanyaH
... for idle hands (for those of you that don't know the end of that particular quote Grin)

Believe it or not, this one hasn't been through snapseed, nor has that light source been added artifically. I'll put up V1 in a minute, which is the original, straight-off-the phone image. The benefits of pointing a rubbish camera on a phone into a small IKEA bendy light source, eh?! ... You get all kinds of wonderful goings on with the light spillage!!

It has been through photoshop and Nik's tools, but I don't suppose it would be 'mine' if it hadn't been.

The first one. More tactile, scarier. Those nails are fabulous.
I'm thinking Miss Havisham...

However you did it, it's very effective.
Possibly consider some hand cream though.

Well, my exceedingly clever and rather artistic virtual friend, what can I say! Other than, once again, this is excellent. Smile

I wanted to give you my 'silk purse from a sows ear' award, but I keep doing that and I don't want you to think I'm after some 'mates rates' welding done. Wink

This would be a great book cover for a novel about the abandoned garden of the Squire who suffered from unrequited lust, as the love of his life, the gardeners young, nubile and slightly rampant daughter had such rough hands he daren't let her near him....or his.Grin

Pants, have an award,Smile it's so cleverly seen and transformed it's well worth it!!!

Well, thank you kindly all Grin Wasn't sure about how this one would go down, but putting up the Version 1 (which is the original) is interesting as flicking between the two I know there's parts I've eradicated in working on it, but the final main image is more in-keeping with the creepy feeling I wanted to convey ...

And Dave, for your (very!) kind user award, I'll weld you a new veg rack Wink

The original doesn't look much at all, but I guess the important thing creatively as photographers we see an end result in our mind and work on it to get there, be it something like this or a mono conversion.
Good one.

You've certainly got a creepy feel to this. In my mind it's a mummies hand, bandage wrapping removed, all dry and dusty yet still clinging onto life through the leaves. I bet you didn't know that Brummies have such vivid imaginations? Have you tried a conversion to black and white?

Black and white make it look soulless for whatever reason ... probably the way I tried to do it and quality wasn't the best to start with anyway! It's a welder's hand by the way ... before the hand cream ... Wink
