In the fall, the Great Crested Crmorant comes to our place to spend the winter. The roost in reat numbers in the trees along the river and on the island in front of the house. The trees begin to whiten more and more from their droppings until it looks like frosting. The rains wash it off, but it makes a nice effect in winter in a place where it doesn't snow. South Alabama has a semi-tropical climate.
