I like this photo, sometimes I feel that some technical data can assist in critiquing a photo it would be nice to know what you were shooting.

In this case the shutter speed could be changed to improve the photo. When you are taking pictures of moving water using shutter speeds of 1/2 to 1 sec. I find is best to make the water look like ribbons flowing over the rocks, granted you may need to use a tripod to keep the image sharp and on sunny days you may need a filter to block the extra light. With your overcast day you could done that with out the filter.

I do really like the use of the S curves in the picture to lead the viewer to the tree. it is also up to personal preference to crop some of the clouds from the top of the picture.
