Blessings from Mom.

By tashi
Good Morning to all EPZers!!

Today's upload is one of the shots captured during Dasshera festival. During this festival in almost every Nepalese family it is customery to take blessings from the family elders. Normally parents or grandparents bless their siblings by putting "tika" on their forehead, which is then followed by presenting them with gifts (cash/kind). The tika used during this occasion is a special one. It is made by mixing uncooked rice grains, curd and red tika colour.
The festival is also marked by a grand family get together.

Thanking you all for your lovely cs and vs.
With much appreciation.
Rani.

Oh no that's not me! The mother in this picture is my sister, (yes ... younger to me), the two kids are my niece and nephew. I'm the unseen. Yes, the one behind the camera.
My sis is married to a Nepalese guy, which means she follows his traditions.

Also, thanks to all for seeing this picture (which happens to be one of my favourite shots) and ... of course .... special thanks to all for the lovely comments and votes.
Cheers.
