Mist and Mud

By tavm
Driving to work on a misty morning. I have always had my eye on this old bit of farm machinery used as a gate stop. There was a low level mist that looked really great. The problem I have found is that misty photos are very hard to process and are full of noise. The other problem is that, although the mist was quite close, in order to get the framing right on the wide lens it looks quite distant.
I like the lines of the tractor marks and the gate but I would like to know if there is too much sky..

I love this, I can imagine standing at the gate looking across the field and taking a deep breath of fresh cold air, fabulous.

Beautiful, the forground mist and colours are great, I don't think there's too much sky.

Lovely misty shot and good colours. I think perhaps less sky would be good.

Who would have thought a muddy puddle could look so good? Wink It works so well, and thats what its all about. Some may say there is too much sky but for me it works because it goes from the orange glow to the blues to the blacks, which for me mimicks the mist to green to dark foreground.

Fabulous shot. Just goes to show that you don't need a good sky to make a good photo. Some cracking detail in this well composed and framed shot.

Bang on!

Well done.
