Great Mormon (Papilio memnon)

By teocali
A Great Mormon (Papilio memnon) butterfly, taken at the RHS Wisley Butterfly Event last Tuesday. Forgot to save this with Exif details so here are the settings:-
F/8 1/6sec ISO100 AV@100mm flash fired comp mode

Many thanks for your C&Cs on my Indian Leafwing upload - really appreciated, especially in view of the new site teething problems Wink

Not a butterfly that I can say I recognise, Sylvia: beautifully captured, the detail showing up so well in this new ''large" default viewing.

Not the prettiest of butterflies, Sylvia, but very well captured. Would love to go back to Wisley again! Carol

Such beautiful delicate specimens. Superb exposure and sharp detail Sylvia. Dof is spot on also.
If you go into edit you can insert exif data. I did the same on mine earlier

Apparently Richard if you are working with CS3 and above you can choose to display the exif data automatically when saving for web, by choosing "all" from the drop down option in CS and that's what I had forgotten to do. Would save a lot of typing in of data but if it doesn't work will do it, as you suggest, by the edit option Wink

Wonderful capture Sylvia, as know how hard it is to capture these as spent last two years going there to try,and never as good as this so won't bother this year..leave it to the pro's.
superb detail and clarity.

Not my usual subject in a technical sense, so all I can really say is like the "pose" with the wings just overhanging the edge of the leaf.

The RHS have been advertising this event on the Radio all week, so having seen this I may just go along and try something new for me Smile
