An excellent series Sylvia. Tack sharp and the bg colour is a perfect match for the colouring in the fly. Presentation is spot on as well!!

Three very fine shots Sylvia. The fly makes a lovely contrast with the flower heads and fly detail is excellent.

3 wonderful captures Sylvia, it proves what fun Macro can be.
Try it on the tripod and then shutter lock, I found it gives the image more steadiness and more challenge. Also mix water and sugar and spray it and they will stay longer feeding for you.
The detail is super here and on fennel, a real bonus

Top quality macro work. Was it really taken at f/2.8, though? If so, I'm surprised you got that much depth of field with the lens so close to the subject.

Hi Dave - yes, definitely f/2.8 on all 3 - just checked the metadata - aperture priority.

Very nice series.

I wondered about the aperture as well. I too have this lens but find that it works better with a higher f number, you must have got the angle just right to have the fly so much in focus (and a steady hand)
All three shots are excellent, version 2 for the striking colours in it.
Lovely presentations.

Lovely shot, pleasure to make it 50 clicks, Rod
