Summertime Blues

By teocali
I think this is a Germander Speedwell but am not sure. It is just another from the few wildflower pictures I took last summer. I did try cloning out the half petal in the foreground, but it didn't look right and neither did cropping to leave it out. Perhaps somebody might do a mod.

A beautiful image, Sylvia, love blue flowers! Not sure if it is a germander speedwell, though, they are usually very low to the ground. Carol

Colour is beautiful, BG is spot on Sylvia, it all adds up to a lovely composition so why bother with cropping/cloning. Its great.

Lovely image , looks as if it will be a while before we get to spring and summer, more snow on the way.

Just a quick mod cropped out the petal had to crop away the frame as the grey shadow bled into the image. Definitely looks better the way you framed it.

Hi Mary
That looks much better - many thanks for the mod. I really tried to remove it myself, before adding the border, but somehow I just couldn't get it to look natural - perhaps I was being too pernickety Smile

A great shot - and I have to agree with Ron's (Maiwand) comments - the clone out mods done does improve it slightly

Hi Stuart
Thank you for taking the time to produce this lovely mode - the slightly blurred background add a lovely effect Smile
Sylvia

Thank you everybody for you comments, clicks and all 3 mods - it is very helpful and interesting to see what others can add to one's image - a great learning help.

Another lovely image captured Sylvia, the blue flowers looking beautiful against the soft green hues of the bg.

Lovely summer image Sylvia, very well composed, excellent detail on the two central flowers, blue being my favourite colour, set against the soft greens, roll on the sunny days.

Great shot Sylvia; love the light and the details of the little blue flowers; just a slight shame for me with the prominent background stalk running right up the middle
