Open Wide!

By teocali
Spent a wonderful morning witnessing the start of the red deer rutting season in the company of Ron(Maiwand), Richard (MossyOak) and Paul(harrattp). It was fascinating, with the stags in full cry and ready for the fray! This chap was taking a brief respite, but still had the energy to fill the air with his deep full-throated bellowing.

A very well timed shot of this great guy Sylvia. He certainly produced the goods. I have photographed this one now for 3 years as I recognise the short patch of hair on its back. Well timed and a great bellowing portrait taking in all the antlers and reducing the dof.
Many thanks for the User Award on mine.
A great day and glad you enjoyed it so much, hope the feet don't ache too much, keep eating those Mars Bars Smile

Excellent example of the Stag practising his "scales" Sylvia. It sure was resouding well yesterday. Glad to see you kept the colours of the beast at a normal and natural looking level. Seen a few lately with colouring over enhanced.

Fantastic capture Sylvia, you can almost see his tonsils and what he had for his breakfast. The view shows the full magnificent spread of his antlers. Great to finally get to meet you and trust the fear of being amongst them did not cause too much distress for you. Lol.

Great shot Sylvia and as Ron says it's good to see the color produced in a natural way, lovely detail too,
