A real stunner in every way Julian! Hope I get to see some when I am at the broads in a weeks time!!! I am guessing you need the sun out before you have a chance of seeing these, or can you find them rooting early/late in the day also?

Fishiee. Good luck next week and yes sunshine is best! I'm not sure that it's at all easy to find them roosting. Staff at the reserves may help you though.
For me, the key to getting a picture is to be at their favourite nectar source: thistles, Flag, Red Campion and Ragged Robin amongst others.
