Moving Home...

By TerryMcK
A female Stoat hurriedly carrying one of her Kits across open ground between two large piles of rejected bricks at a local quarry. To avoid attracting predators, a mother Stoat will regularly move her family to a new home. The brick piles were about fifty yards apart and she made the same trip five more times within 15 to 20 minutes. Constantly aware of any danger to herself and her kits, she always moved very cautiously within the cover provided by the bricks before darting back and forth between old and new dens.
