Joe's Pond

By thebleezer
Further to my last upload, a little further along the way is Joe's Pond.

Joe's Pond (formerly known as Nicholsonís Pond) is a four hectare site of Specific Scientific Interest. It contains a variety of habitats that provides shelter for over 140 species of birds, wildlife and fauna.

Originally the location for a coal mine, Joe's pond and the surrounding area, has recently been identified as being the home to the 5 native species of owl in the UK, a fact welcome despite the relative short life the site has had as a nature reserve.

Thank you for taking the time to look!

A very tranquil image, beautifully composed and captured Dave, with lovely foreground detail. I particularly like the way you have captured the reflection of the sky in the pond.
