Quote:Hi! The site isn't picking up your Exif details of camera settings. This is important information for critique purposes, so would you please add it to your upload?
You can do this by clicking on the Options button below your picture, then on Edit photo, then at Edit photo information click on the Exif tab. Complete the boxes, then click on Save.
It's difficult to give detailed advice without the techie stuff.

Quote:I'm really not sure what's going on here.

It looks as if you've processed digitally to get an "aged print" look to the picture: and maybe the restricted tonal range and lack of a plane of really sharp focus are intentional, and aimed at the same goal.

For me, it doesn't really work - I'd have upped the ISO and shot at a smaller aperture to cover focus errors, or made sure that the focus was on the model's eyes, I think.

The risk of going for an "old picture" feel is that it can appear as sloppy technique. Some of your other pictures are delightfully sharp, so I'm really not sure whether this is an aberration, deliberate, or what...

Also slightly unsure why you seem to have posted the same picutre on two successive days?

Quote:Comments much as before. You are a touch under exposed and the face and eyes are rather dark. You could try lifting them with the dodge tool, but you say you did not want to use flash. Why? You are lacking shadow detail and the low light and mono conversion technique has compressed tones into a rather narrow band of grey.

Unless there is a reason to not do something, flash prohibited for example, you should employ the technique required for the best possible image. For this shot, you needed better lighting on her face, whatever that actually requires.

Yeah man i can't use a flash. I had an assignment. It should be a natural light portrait so no flash

  • Very old train wagon

Quote:A tighter, more compact composition, and flash has served you well here. You have detail on the underside of the wagon, you also have much better exposure on the background than in your previous upload in the Critique Gallery. This is much better, well done.

Wow glad you remembered my previous shot thanks for the review again. This time i went prepared with 2 external flashes and magic happened
