My interest in photography is less concerned with image making and more to do with subject content and composition. So beyond a bit of cropping or level adjustment if the image wasn't already what I wanted in-camera its deleted. One thing I'm enjoying about being on here is that its forcing me to think a bit more about why I do what I'm doing, and why I'm not doing what I'm not doing!

Anyway thanks for stopping by and hopefully you find something of interest! Grin

For me this is easy - V2. Simple - bird and waterfall in almost equal measure.

Where were you when you took this? Are they flying vertically up/down above you, or were you in a plane?

  • No Signal Again... by Robert51

I've walked into phone zombies deliberately colliding with them. I held my bag up in front of me to cushion the blow. They've always been angry with me but they admitted liability. Why are non phone zombies now 2nd class citizens who have to take take responsibilty to avoid them? What if i was sight impaired? Once i overtook a phone zombie and then stopped dead in my tracks so they'd walk into me. Made my day!!!

There are many ways tto process the same shot, each giving very different results and that for me is alot of the fun of photography.

Your comment "We are there with our cameras to record reality. Once we start modifying that which exists, we are robbing photography of its most valuable attribute" - you are clearly a man after my own heart! I have written extensively on this topic, and have been accused of being a fundamentalist" by some of my fellow club members. I think it's a fine line between "photography" and "digital art". People spend hours making epic images of dull subjects with no back story - and they are very skillful at it. But it's not what I want to do. I placate myself by likening it to Jazz. To ask "Do you like Jazz?" is an almost pointless question - maybe I like Fusion, but not Oompah! In both cases the word is so wide as to be almost meaningless now. But I won't enter competitions any more. I see it as akin to joining a club called "The Knitting and Basket Weaving Club" - now let's have a competition where we compare your Jumper with this Basket!

    Keep up the good work!

Love your photos - you don't need Photoshop!! Really - for me it would seriously detract from what you do. Smile
