Spotlight on Chesil Beach

By TheURL
Looking north-west from Portland across Chesil Beach, which is known for having larger pebbles at one end than at the other. Experiments have been conducted to move little pebbles from one end to the other, and over time they reliably move back to their original positions. In the lagoon is the famous Abbotsbury Swannery, from where swans migrate annually to a similar lagoon on the south east coast of Iceland, which I have also visited (but it was wet and windy so we kept driving).

Beautiful and familiar old stomping ground for me. Lovely to see. Yes Abbotsbury is a beautiful location too.
